The firm was established in 1929 by Gustav Winter, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, and native of
Kewaunee
County. In addition to providing counsel in many areas to individuals, businesses and organizations, Winter served for 40 years as Attorney for the City of
Antigo, as well as for the Unified School District of Antigo. He was heavily involved in community affairs, serving on the board of directors of Wisconsin Timber & Land,
Mattoon, the Fidelity Savings Bank, and was a member of the State Bar Association of Wisconsin, Langlade County Bar Association and the Benchers Society.
In 1962, Richard Winter, a fellow University of Wisconsin Law School graduate, began legal practice, presently having provided legal counsel 45 years. The late Norman R. Wild joined the firm in 1976, practicing for 26 years until his death in 2003.
